Shaquille O'Neal has endorsed John Mina for Orange County Sheriff. Shaq stated "I know John Mina personally; He has proven himself in times of crisis. He has shown he can keep our community safe." Mina is hoping to replace Jerry Demings who is stepping down to run for mayor of Orange County. John Mina is a longtime friend of Shaq who is also a big supporter of the law enforcement community and plans on running for sheriff sometime in 2020. A fun fact that people don’t know is that Shaq is an occasional deputy at times. John Mina's only competition in the race is Democrat José “Joe” López but he should be able to carry himself to victory just by name recognition alone but we’ll see how strong Lopez’s ground game is.
