Disney not only makes young kids dreams come true but they also vie for influence through money just like any other corporation. At the moment Disney is spending 4.7 million to make sure that gambling is not expanded in the state and they have already contributed 70% of the donations to a group called "voters in charge" which is dedicated to making sure gambling stays limited in the state. The goal of this group is to get a constitutional amendment on the ballot and if the ballot measure makes it, it would be called Amendment 3 on the November ballot and would require the approval of 60% of the voters to make it official. My personal view of this is that I feel you should be able to gamble at will because it is more of a freedom issue with me, and I’m sure libertarians will agree with me on this one. Disney coming out to buy influence is exactly what I am talking about when I mention the idea of money in politics which corrupts our political process. This may be a minor issue in comparison to other money donations that buy politicians for more mischievous reasons, however, it is still the same concept.
