John Bolton is the face of the neocons. He was a UN ambassador under the Bush administration and he supported and encouraged the war in Iraq. When Mcmaster leaves his position as National Security Advisor (Which is a part of Trump’s major cabinet shakeup), Bolton will take over and there are already reports of him planning on firing many of the NSC (National Security Council) staff. This whole ordeal is very troubling considering the fact that Trump is doing this around the same time that we are planning to enter high-level talks with North Korea. Bolton is a massive warmonger and believes we should push for regime change to get rid of the nukes if the North Koreans don’t give them up without any concessions... as if that’s how negotiations are conducted. Another concerning matter is the Iranian Deal that Trump is thinking about scrapping. John Bolton also wants war with Iran and wouldn’t mind getting rid of the deal putting us back on the brink of war with Iran. Here is a quote From Bolton before the Iran deal “Time is terribly short, but a strike can still succeed.... An attack need not destroy all of Iran's nuclear infrastructure, but by breaking key links in the nuclear-fuel cycle, it could set back its program by three to five years. The United States could do a thorough job of destruction, but Israel alone can do what's necessary. Such action should be combined with vigorous American support for Iran's opposition, aimed at regime change in Tehran." He has also made statements about retaliating against Russia in cyberspace, so the apparent danger of this man being in such a high position should be painfully obvious. John Bolton hasn’t seen a war he didn’t want to get into and if he gets his way and the president’s ear, he might get his wish. But, only this time it could involve nukes or even a World War, but let’s remain positive.
