So we finally got a World Premier Trailer for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding.
I’m not gonna lie I’m not excited about this game because I don’t really care about Kojima like that anymore but what I’m seeing is pretty interesting to me.
One of the things I’ve always loved about Kojima’s games in the past has been the inclusion of a supernatural element in his otherwise wacky/real-world settings.
The biggest point of intrigue here is the antagonists or antagonistic force in the game which we initially cannot see and probably won’t be able to until we get a good portion into the game and some things are better explained.
The reason why I’m saying I’m not that intrigued now is because I want to be surprised by the game later on if I ever get my hands on it so excuse my reserve at the moment.
What is very exciting is the inclusion of Norman Reedus (Boondock Saints, The Walking Dead fame) as the protagonist of the game with that lil baby in his stomach. lol
Also, Guillermo Del Toro (Director of The Shape of Water, Pacific Rim, Pan’s Labyrinth and many more) appearing as a potential character within the game. It’s very nice to see his return as Kojima and Del Toro were previously working together to make the ill-fated Silent Hills before Konami decided they didn’t want to make video games anymore. Reedus was set to be the protagonist of that project as well so it’s great that the three entities got back together to make Death Stranding happen.
Mads Mikkelsen looks to be portraying the antagonist of the game and I've easily grown to LOVE Mads Mikkelsen within the last few years so it’s great to see him show up in different pieces of media.
You can watch the trailer up above but I’m intrigued, for the time being, be triggered if you want, I’ll give you more when the next trailer drops.
Death Stranding is still in development and has no set release date.
