Cenk Uygur’s Blog Controversy

Recently Cenk Uygur of TYT has made online headlines over a blog post he wrote about his time living in Miami and how he couldn’t get a lot of women while living there. He has since disavowed the more eyebrow-raising comments such as women being genetically flawed, how fast intimacy should progress, and how many women he kissed and felt up at Mardi Gras. In addition to this Cenk has since deleted that blog even though it’s still online somewhere but the controversy doesn’t stop there. Unfortunately, it has affected his connection with the Justice Democrats because they called for his resignation from the staff and in response, Kyle Kulinski of Secular Talk left as well because he didn’t agree with the decision that was made. Personally, I feel the Justice Democrats shouldn’t have asked Cenk to step down considering all he has done for them and the progressive movement as a whole. Those comments were made in the past when he was conservative and he has since changed, to be honest, the comments made were not as bad as they were made out to be and like Kyle from Secular Talk said, it seemed more like a satire of himself (Cenk) more than anything. Even with all this both Kyle and Cenk will both be supporting the candidates of the Justice Democrats which is great but I’m curious how this will affect the movement as a whole.
