What would Halloween and Autumn in general be without a top 5 list of must watch horror movies?
Halloween (1978 or 2007)

Why not celebrate Halloween with a movie named after the special day itself. The movie doesn't mention to much of Halloween but the iconic slasher villian came to be because of an event that happened on Halloween Day. No spoilers, because a literally just seen the original movie for the first time 2 yrs ago for Halloween and I've watched it every year since and will be watching it again this year. Either versions of the movie will do. They are both great in different ways.
Scream (1995)

Now I don't want to flood this list with slasher films but hear me out for Scream. Scream is a film that kinda picks on and makes fun of slasher films while also paying homage to slasher films and their clichés while at the same time still being taken serious. Hell there's even a part in the movie where they're watching Halloween at a party. I bought the collection on Bluray and I will continue to watch this film for Halloween for the rest of my life.
Idle Hands (1999)

Now this one is a little bit on the funny side but still horror. It's also one of my favorite movies to watch on Halloween. A movie about a kid whose hand gets possessed by the Devil. Sounds kinda cheesy. But its funny. There's plenty of Halloween in this movie, they put a curfew on Halloween while everyone goes to a Halloween party where this hand brings havoc on everybody... It has zombies.
Night of the Demons (2009)

A remake of the 1988 film, now I never seen the original film so I can't recommend it but I really like this one and the ending. The plot is pretty basic, a Halloween party is thrown together to trick people to coming in and being apart of a ritual to summon demons. A ritual that failed once before. It's been pretty hard for me to find this movie but I've recently got my hands on it and now its apart of my Halloween movie tradition.
Trick 'R Treat (2009)

Santa Claus, Leprechauns, Easter Bunny, Cupid. All holiday mascots. This film gave Halloween a mascot, also serving as an enforcer of Halloween tradition in the film named Sam. The film also tells 4 stories happen on a Halloween night while Sam spectates. The film is nothing but appropriate for Halloween, probably my favorite movie concerning Halloween. Hopefully these films will scare people into celebrating Halloween.
