Trailer Trash!!! Black Panther Trailer 2!

Man I have to say that the tension keeps building and the hype for this movie keeps getting louder and louder.

Here we have the second trailer for Marvel’s 2018 film Black Panther which is dropping next February. More has been revealed to us so let’s dive in!

First and foremost seeing the untouched and technologically advanced nation of Wakanda never gets old, I appreciate what Marvel is crafting because Wakanda seems like a whole other world!

Speaking of the technology the trailer starts by showing us several Wakandan aircraft flying through what appears to be some sort of force field/masking dome that encases the nation and has shielded it from invaders in the past either domestically or colonial.

From what I can tell after seeing the shot of Denai Gurira ( Who portrays Michonne on the popular AMC television series The Walking Dead) piloting one of the aircraft, it seems that the controls are based on the motion of how she’s holding her hands if that's anything to go by but I could be wrong.

These showings are amazing and many of these marvels ( No pun intended) were likely developed and integrated into Wakandan society by T’Chala’s younger sister Shuri, the Princess of Wakanda. (Expect to see a bunch of black baby girls get this beautiful name for the next decade. lol)

Shuri is said to rival the mind of Tony Stark when it comes to technological prowess so I can’t wait to see a showcase of her skillset.

The shot of the handshake that Shuri and T’Chala share shows a very close relationship between the Wakandan royals and it’s so close to home, a wonderful depiction of black sibling relationships.

P.S. Before I get off the subject of technology and Shuri, there is a scene of her driving a vehicle with pink hard light. If that’s possible then that is bananas (I’ve been saying this a lot lately in place of crazy….hmmm) to me, the tech is wild!! (For those not privy to what that is “Hard Light” is concentrated light that can be interacted with physically. Think of the Green Lanterns energy constructs, they abide by the same properties.)

I love the scene of T’Chala being accompanied by the Dora Milaje who acts as a personal guard to the King of Wakanda/Black Panther.

Speaking of other things I loved about this trailer, I’m head over heels for Michael B. Jordan’s portrayal of Erik Killmonger in this film, I LOVE the look of his locs and I can’t wait until I loc my hair up, I hope they look just as good!!!

Now I have a few theories in regards to a few things and we’ll begin with Erik Killmonger.

From this trailer I have reason to believe that this interpretation of Killmonger is the illegitimate son of T’Chaka the previous King of Wakanda and the father of T’Chala since he was exiled from Wakanda in the past.

The donning of a Panther suit and need to overthrow T’Chala leads me to believe this is why Erik is a would be usurper.

Bastards living in the shadow of noble born children usually feel a need to rule ala Loki and Thor within the same universe. (Also I just started watching/ caught up on Game of Thrones so bastards and noble blood talk is hot on my mind right now.lol)

Also the scene of T’Chala walking through the cloud burst sky with several black panthers in a tree is likely a sequence in which T’Chala is consulting the previous Panthers for guidance, likely his father T’Chaka in a sequence that will mirror another Disney film based in Africa, The Lion King. (illegal usage of commas .lol)

My mind instantly gravitated toward that similarity, I hope T’Chaka transforms from a Panther into his appearance as seen in Civil War like Michael Jackson did in one of his music videos. lol

That’s all I have for now, let’s get to talking fam!

Catch you on the flip side!
