~ lil Uzi Vert finally dropped Luv Is Rage 2 back on the 25th and the internet community Is still talking about It. For fans of Uzi the album fulfilled what they would want from a sequel to his banger of a mixtape Luv Is Rage. As for the people who dislike him and probably see him as either a devil worshiper or someone pushing a gay agenda in hip hop (If only I were joking about those two) they most likely weren't trying to listen to it at all. And In their eyes just like those old dudes who continue to hate and are still wishing for Nas to drop a new album It's trash. It's safe to say lil Uzi Vert Is a divisive figure In the Hip Hop community, and depending on your age and how serious you take things you might either love him or hate him. However, let me just get to the point and tell how I felt about the album.
First off let me tell you what I disliked about the album cause I know that's what you bois want to read. Production wise the album Is a hype one that will have you shoulder rolling yourself into a coma...HOWEVER, a few of the cuts from Luv Is Rage 2 have some weak production on them. Songs like How To Talk and X are huge offenders of this and are bad tracks In general. And the obvious go to "I love my mom" hip hop staple track Dark Queen Is honestly...ehhhhhh. Other than these tracks the other 13 were on point and I don't have shit else to complain about.
Overall Luv Is Rage 2 Is lil Uzi Vert's best project to date, I won't say It's better than Luv Is Rage 1 but It's DAMN close (that's just me thooooo!!!!). Uzi capitalizes on the Vert aspect of his name and drops some bangers that send Luv Is Rage 2 on a crash course trip into rager territory. Songs like 444+222, Sauce It Up, and Early 20 Rager are tracks that hook you from the moment they come on and fuel themselves off of the energy they create. While songs like Neon Guts (produced by and featuring Pharrell) and The Way Life Goes are guaranteed pop hits just like XO Tour Llif3 and I'd be shocked If they didn't break the Billboard Hot 100...them shits good mane!!!
Look I like lil Uzi Vert and like I said this Is his best project since Luv Is Rage 1. Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World and The Perfect Luv Tape were alright mixtapes and they had some banger tracks but Luv Is Rage 2 easily verts over both of those.
Score: 4/5
