In a surprising joint attack, the Taliban and ISIS has joined together and killed over 50 civilians including women and children after overrunning pro-government forces in the Sar-e Pol Province. This is an interesting development if proven true. The Taliban has denied that, they had anything to do with the massacre but did admit that they took the village where the attack took place but claimed they did this alone. According to local officials the Taliban not only participated but also recruited from other provinces for the assault. If this is a new agreement between the groups and forms some type of coalition, then that spells trouble for the Afghan security forces.
