I have a new segment for y’all now known as “Whatcha Reading Fam?” which is my way to recommend different pieces of literature that you guys may not be privy to or want to expand your palate.
Now I love anime and manga, I’ve grew up watching anime like most of you, you know after school trying to catch episodes of Dragon Ball Z on Toonami (The mark of a true 90’s kid) which is great but the thing that sucks about anime is that it eats up a lot of time if you’re unsure about it.
These days since I am less inclined to jump into an anime due to time and convenience, I can run through the first 5 chapters of a manga and cover a lot more ground whereas 10 episodes would cover the story within those 5 chapters with small filler thrown in to pad a normal 22 min run time on television.
So these days I’ll read as I can do it on my phone literally everywhere, you can’t beat that convenience.
Now let us get started.
Blaster Knuckle

I found out about Blaster Knuckle on Tumblr within the last week and after finding out the premise I was heavily interested.
Taking place during the late 1800's where slavery is still commonplace and the fear of getting lynched is very real, we are introduced to Victor {Blood Rain} Freeman (If his last name didn’t tip you off, he used to be a slave and Freeman was a common name taken on by former slaves during that period) who is an enigmatic man with a steel gauntlet on his right hand, the titular Blaster Knuckle.
The twist of this series that’s made hella apparent within the first chapter is the fact that Victor has to contend with the KKK which, yes they are monsters, but in this series they are ancient demon like creatures that feast on people, namely the black folks.
Now I’ve only read 2 chapters so the information I have on the series is pretty bare bones but the premise is reminding me of series like Berzerk or Claymore.
With this particular segment I want to give more information and entice you to read more so expect more articles in the future on some good reads.
I love reading so let’s talk about the series if you get into it.
Peace
