The Wrap-up in Benghazi

In Benghazi General Hiftar's forces have made permanent gains, at this current moment they are just conducting mop up operations in the last few areas of the 3 year fight which he declared victory in on Wednesday. Hiftar's forces have not only decimated Ansar al-Sharia into dissolution but have forced ISIS to flee Benghazi and made the Benghazi Defense Brigades consider standing down nationwide. These are very monumental developments and show the strength and effectiveness of his military operations. With this coming about I really feel that he has to be a part of any peace deal in the Libyan conflict. There are talks about Hiftar moving on Tripoli but that’s not official at this point. What is official is that Hiftar has scored a major victory through persistence and he is a force to be reckoned with.
