CNN’s Continued Downfall

CNN has made the news again, this time over a meme of Trump during his WWE appearance where he attacks Vince McMahon but in the meme Vince's face has the CNN logo over it.

Now, CNN became butt-hurt and used company resources to track down the Reddit user where this came from. Now, this known Reddit user apologized and deleted his post and vowed to never engage in that type of behavior. He’s also known for posting anti-Semitic material and other racist post. It’s also clear he is a Trump supporter as by looking at the meme. The controversy gets even worst when Andrew Kaczynski head of the investigative team at CNN stated that CNN reserved the right to publish his identity if he chooses to do it again. Some say its blackmail and it sure does sound like it
In my view I feel that CNN is being just as childish as Trump by tracking down the user. What they did was unnecessary and petty. The type of person that they went after is an internet troll to begin with, someone amongst others in the forum who considers Trump the god emperor which should let you know this is someone who cares not about Trump’s actual policies, they are just trapped in a cult of personality or edgy behavior. And people like them love this type of controversy. They spend most of their time in chat forums trolling and don’t need attention paid towards them. But by doing this, CNN is giving them more reason to troll them and it fits with the narrative that CNN is untrustworthy. Instead of wasting time chasing down worthless trolls, they could be reporting on actual issues like sending an investigative team to understand why Flint still doesn’t have clean water or how Time Warner among others is pushing to gut net neutrality. Oh I forgot that would never happen because Time Warner owns CNN which is interesting considering the fact that Trump “Mr. anti-corporate media” is helping them do just that. But these are the things CNN could be talking about but these issues aren’t sensational enough for ratings and require actual journalism.
