It is believed by some that before there was existence there was nothing but chaos. The cosmos began to take form from out of the chaos and entered the realm of existence. In this realm there are certain laws things must adhere to in order to exist; some refer to this as the natural law or the natural order of the cosmos. These laws help to keep things balanced and just in existence. Laws in modern society help to govern the way citizens should act and behave in society. Many different organized systems of faith have their own laws to structure the way it’s followers should act. One of the most fundamental ideas of the new age spirituality is to follow beliefs as one chooses to see fit for them personally. In this mind frame the believes become a part of who the individual and less in what they believe in. Throughout the ages many rules have been made to govern ethics and spirituality as a whole. Rather than spend countless amounts of hours collecting and researching in Plato or Confucius dialects it is simpler to just look at the essence of guidance as a whole. In this article I will reveal 10 of the most useful philosophies that have been shared time and time over and in so many different forms.
#1 Everything in Existence Adheres to Duality For every night there is a day. For every life there is death. For every sadness there is happiness. There is an opposite aspect for everything which leads to multiple outcomes and multiple choices. Both aspects must exist in order to abide by the natural order of the cosmos. With this order everything has the ability to become balance and the laws of nature will always see to remain balanced in one way or another.
#2 Change is the Only Constant Nothing in existence ever stays the same. Day turns into night, the summer eventually turns into winter, matter changes form overtime or under the right conditions and eventually all things come to an end, just as all things begin from somewhere. One must learn how to adapt to these changes in order to navigate smoothly through the changes or at least be able to accept and learn to be comfortable with whatever changes occur. Those who attempt to create a constant without being aware of change being a never-ending variable will be doomed to reach for the unattainable; the only truly exists within the mind.
#3 Knowledge Helps Better Ones Existence Knowledge is seen as one of the 48 Laws of Power. Whether this is true or not is irrelevant, in truth with knowledge comes the increase in choices and the repercussions of those choices. The more one knows the more one is able to achieve. In order to move forward in anything one must first possess the knowledge of how to move it all. The more ones knowledge increases the more one’s awareness increases. In order to learn one must first become aware to even observe at all.
#4 Perception Shapes One Reality Law of attraction is based solely on the idea that perception can be used as a tool that can manifest one's reality. If we think we will fail at something secreting that energy with our minds and subconsciously attracting that failure to us. One key thing to remember is one person’s failure is another person's success. It is how you’re able to look at things that defines the outcomes. If one perceives something to be real, such as love, then to that individual it is real in their perspective, despite the facts.
#5 Know Thy Self In order enjoy life one must first learn what they personally enjoy. Not everyone enjoys the same thing and place different values on different aspects of life. Since change will always occur must remain vigilant. One must remain aware of what they used to enjoy, what they will enjoy and what they currently in this moment in time enjoy. Likewise one should do the same self evaluation to determine the things they don’t enjoy and don’t want in their life. The better one knows themselves the more choices they can make for their betterment are these be more aware of why they make the choices that they do. Knowing yourself is an important step in accepting yourself and you cannot love yourself until you are able to accept yourself for all of who you are, both your negative and positive side.
#6 Treat Others as You Would Treat Yourself Most of us seek to have the type of life and which we would consider to be good, to be treated with kindness and respect. Likewise we should give each other the same exact treatment in accord. This is viewed throughout most of the world is the Golden Rule and is a major principle in which many belief systems are built upon. It is an ethical code that is used to promote peace, prosperity and unity. With this is a foundation one can one can come to the understanding that one should not harm another for they would not want to be harm themselves. In addition this concept flirts with the idea of free will in the regards that if one should be able to do as they will for what they perceive is for their betterment and be allowed to make their own individual so should another.
#7 Patients is a Virtue Virtues are simply ideas in which an individual holds a high-value towards. Since all things change over time, one can be sure the any negative event will eventually turn into a positive one or at least view the event as not being so negative with the change in one's perception of the event. Rome was not built in a day and everything takes time to manifest into reality. To have things happen when you want them to will not always be the case no matter how much you wanted it to work out that way. Just like there is a place for everything there’s also a time for everything and sometimes the timing just isn't right. To obtain patience is to obtain peace of mind as you allow things to unfold as they should in that particular moment in time. Patients also allows one to accept things for the way that they are and not as they would like them to be.
#8 Growth is Essential to Life All living things grow, it is the natural order, and like change it may have the appearance of being constant. Somethings simply do not grow, and for those things there is a loss of its life force in one way or another. Evolution is built upon the idea of constant growth to better suit the survivability of whatever is evolving. Growth is not limited to only animate objects, ideas and feelings can be viewed as being alive as well and held in the same regard and likewise are subject to growth or decay. Feelings grow or go away if they are not maintained, just as ideas spread from one individual to the next that they resonate with allows the idea to grow and continue its lifespan. It is important to nurse whatever is important to you in order to benefit from the positive or realize that you are not benefiting.
#9 Happiness is a Pursuit In the United States Constitution Thomas Jefferson clearly states happiness as being as pursuit all human beings should be allowed to engage in. Since all things in existence are subject to change, the feeling of being happy or whatever particularly makes you happy may also change. Accepting this fact can oftentimes make one weary of even believing that happiness is worth obtaining at all. However happiness can be found in many forms, and if you know yourself you will know all of these that will make you happy both big and small. One may not be able to have a happy life but they can fill their life with happy moments which ultimately will make their life happy as a whole. Those moments don’t just come to you with no effort at all simply because you desire them, one must be able to go out and make those moments for themselves and never stop at just one thing alone. It is a never-ending process but it is achievable with the right attitude and awareness.
#10 Not Everything Will Be Understood or Experienced Change and patience this is a law that once understood can be used in order to achieve a peace of mind. Life does not always shape out the way that we wanted it to but how it is intended to. Some things have no explanation they just are the way they are for ways we are not able to comprehend. Expectations are tied to many things in life and leaves many with a false sense of security. The pessimist sees a half empty glass, the optimist sees a glass half full; the opportunities of glass they can take but the realist sees the glass that is not their own. Toiling away at something that has no answer in that moment in time diverts one self from so many other tasks that they can achieve. Likewise trying to gain something that cannot be gained at the moment in time, for whatever the reasons or difficulties, simply will not be gained. One must learn to accept in order to move forward in life and knowing that something cannot be done, whether it be mentally or physically, can stop wasting the energy they use to do so.
