Man I must say I was thoroughly surprised by the second reboot/Marvel Cinematic Universe introduction of Spider-man.
After seeing all of the trailers and ads pre-release peppered with Tony Stark/Iron Man myself and other fans were afraid that the film was going to be mostly about Iron Man with Peter Parker/Spider-man being the afterthought but alas that was not so with RDJ (Robert Downey Jr. for you plebs), only owning about 15 minutes of screen time which was good and allowed the title character to come into his own.
Tom Holland is the titular Spider-man this time around and I must say after seeing this kids performance in Captain America: Civil War last year I was very excited for what the future would hold for this kid's (21 year old but 15 in the film) performance and he did not disappoint!
All of the characters introduced had vibrant personalities such as the much younger than we previously got in the last 2 continuities Aunt May who could identify more with Peter and the things going on around them, Peter's best friend Ne d(An Expy/Composite character with traits of many different characters namely Ganke Lee who was Miles Morales best friend in the Ultimate Marvel universe) who acted as a stand in for the audience as we would all act as he did if placed in a similar situation. There's also Michelle MJ Jones played by Zendaya who I adored for her deadpan appearance and lines for the film being Peter's supposed future love interest.
The biggest thing I commend this film for is having an antagonist with abilities different from the protagonist as we've seen this be the rinse and repeat formula for most of the MCU films with the Vulture being genuinely intimidating and compelling in his cause for villainous deeds.
Overall I was very happy with this film, I didn't want to spoil anything and I have a lot to gush about after reading up on TV Tropes which is my go to after watching a film but I'd like to hear your thoughts on Spider-man: Homecoming and keep it locked to FiendFix!
