Interesting Upticking in Venezuela

A police investigator Oscar Pérez and a movie star jumped in a helicopter and dropped grenades onto the Supreme Court in Caracas. The grenades did not explode however and the Special Forces are looking for him and his co-conspirators. The Supreme Court is controlled by pro-government individuals and they recently took legislative powers away from the opposition controlled legislature. Nicolás Maduro has vowed to find Perez and even threatened to use violence if the government was overthrown. In other words we have a very tense and equally as strange situation going on. None of this even makes sense to begin with in my opinion. A lot of protesters think this was staged by the government to clamp down on protests that have been ramping up in the country. If this is a legitimate coup attempt then I feel this is only the beginning. We may be at the crossroads in Venezuela where we start to see security forces being peeled away from Maduro but I remain cynical about that until I see more developments.
