Terrorist Profile: Saif Al Adel

In 1998 there was a terrorist attack in East Africa in the Kenya and Tanzania area by Al-Qaeda on two U.S. embassies. This guy had a hand in it. We are talking about a veteran Al-Qaeda leader in the days before 9/11. He’s a former colonel and explosive expert in the Egyptian army and wanted by the FBI for that 1998 attack. This just goes to show you how long we’ve been chasing some of these guys. After the U.S. invasion in Afghanistan during the follow up to 9/11, he fled with others to Iran and stayed there for many years. His current whereabouts is thought to be in Syria and the reason for this is a report a couple of years ago that he was sent there as an emissary by current Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al Zawahiri. Wherever he is, he continues to implement Al-Qaeda’s ideology onto the world.
