Holy fuck! If I'm excited for this one Fiends! There's just so much hype I honestly don't even know where to begin! Lemme just start by saying: Imagine Yoshi's Island but on acid! We got the usual side scroller element of those classic Nintendo games we all grew up with of course. But once again Nintendo blows our fucking mind holes with the special added 3D effect with the eggs. Instead of Yoshi just being able to throw them left, or right of the screen. He can now also throw them behind himself in the background as well as directly towards you the player, defeating enemies as he goes!
Not to mention, the in and out blurring of the different layers of the area as Yoshi and friends (Yes that's right! Multiplayer bitches!!) move behind, what looks like cute cardboard cutout buildings showing a shadowy silhouette of each Yoshi in their designated main color. As they climb upwards, downwards, sideways, behind, and forwards through the entire intricate course.
And what's more is your Yoshi can pound the ground on certain platforms which flips the whole area to the opposite side of the level. Revealing yet more coins and obstacles for you to collect, and defeat. Either as a single player, or together with your friend! I also saw the familiar green and white square shaped Yoshi egg block from one of the previous Yoshi games. Which if memory serves right, spits out green eggs for Yoshi to grab and use against any future enemies without having to swallow additional baddies to create his own home popped eggs. Although according to this trailer it would appear that creating eggs through swallowing enemies is still an option as well.
Something I'm glad that's NOT in this game however, was the inconvenience of baby Mario from other such classic Yoshi games like Yoshi's Island. Who would often times get your ass killed if he fell off Yoshi's back for too long. Although I'm sure that Nintendo still won't fail to add lots of amazingly fun challenges and puzzles to this new title. That will most likely require lots of two player (or more?) teamwork in order to complete. Too bad we don't have an exact release date yet. But I for one, can't hardly wait for any more upcoming announcements and updates from Nintendo in the future! For now, we'll all have to be patient and find out exactly when this next year in 2018! See you then!
