Marvel is Straight Up Washed Out

Now growing up I was a die hard Marvel fan. Almost Exclusively Marvel, No DC no anything just Marvel. Spiderman being my favorite superhero of all time if you wanted to know. Of course I'm older now and I read and love all different kinds of publications. Now I've been a frequent comic reader and I'm realizing I'm not entertained anymore, with the current comics coming out...Mainly Marvel.

I have the Marvel Unlimited app, where I can read thousands of books in the marvel library. So I Decided to Read some 80's X-men and the 1986 Punisher and everything is so on point from the cover to the art inside all the way to the dialogue. Its like comics were being made just for the sole fact of entertainment... Now its like they're just being made to please Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. Honestly Marvel's prime in my opinion was the 1980's. The bubbles were filled with so much dialogue in those comics, while a comic released by Marvel today the characters seem to speak in brief sentences.

Current Comics

Older Comics

Luckily I was able to include some photos to show how significant of a change the dialogue bubbles underwent...Think about it though, back in Marvel's day they would create original characters and storylines. Just cuz they wanted to. Now they'll bring a character back or even give them a comic series just cuz a show or a movie is coming out with that character. To make it even worst now they're changing races and genders just to please people. If you're going to do this just create a new character if you ask me. To end this quickly hear this, read any Marvel comic from 2005 and under, than read a Marvel release from today...Its boring (though I did like Death of Wolverine and the Ultimate Spider-Man relaunch). Here's some reading recommendations, aim for original storyline stuff. If you want old stuff check out X-Men: God Loves Man Kill (1982), or Punisher (1986) the Wolverine miniseries in the 80's is dope also.... Just try to stay away from any book that has a movie tied in with it.
