My take on the DNC and the Justice Democrats

So if you aren't aware former Labor Secretary Tom Perez won the race for the DNC chair and hearing that news had me shaking my head. He defeated Keith Ellison who was progressive lite at least but it seems even then the Democratic establishment wasn’t trying to have that. It shows that they haven’t learned anything from the past election and it shows by supporting Tom Perez who by the way had the support of Biden and Obama. Not only is he apart of the establishment but according to the DNC leaks, as labor secretary he stated he wanted to “put a fork” in sanders support with Latinos during the primaries in support for Hillary. He basically had the full support of the establishment and it’s absurd to make Keith deputy chair as if he’s going to have any real power.
The person I wanted to win is Sam Ronan because he was the true progressive in the race but Keith had support from the Bernie wing and the Clinton wing/establishment. But they decided to go with the status quo that is not looking to shake up things so the DNC can be ready for 2018 and 2020 elections. Perez had a hard time explaining what the DNC platform was going to be pushing forward in the DNC debate. The reason for this is because they actually have nothing to offer. The same people who lost to Donnie Tiny Hands Trump now want to run the DNC again with the same failed strategy of excluding progressives.
And this brings me to my next topic which is the Justice Democrats started by Former Sanders staffers and Kyle Kulinski and Cenk Uygur from Secular Talk and The Young Turks. They plan on running and vetting progressives to run in the primary against the corporate democrats which I fully support. Right now people are woke and watching everything trump is doing even his cabinet member selections and there are many planned protest coming and some that have already been done by the “Resistance”. In my view all of this is great as long as there is a progressive movement at the behest of it like the justice democrats. The platform suggestions are such things as single payer healthcare, police reform, minimum wage increase to $15, getting money out of politics and ending the drug war. These are the things that the DNC should be saying every time they get a chance but they won’t.
Now some might say this won’t work but as of two months of operation, 140,000 have joined the movement donating over $600,000 so to me that’s a good start and many have signed up to run as a candidate in upcoming elections. They also support third parties and in the platform want to change the rules that make it unfair for them in elections. None of this is going to be easy and many will say it’s not going to happen, but you have to start somewhere and I rather do this then to run Cory Booker or Tim Kaine in 2020. The democrats should have it easy, you have republicans trying to get rid of Obamacare but are confused on how even though they had years to come up with a viable alternative, Trump is a con man running on an anti-establishment platform but has Goldman Sachs operatives in his cabinet and wants to cut regulations that benefit only the wealthy, Wall Street and oil companies. Never mind the delusional narcissism and pathological lying. So this is our best shot as progressives to actually put our country on the right path and stand up to the oligarchs but it starts in our own backyard with the corporate democrats.
