NATO airstrikes in Afghanistan have eliminated a Taliban jihadi named Mullah Abdul Salam who was the Kunduz shadow governor of Afghanistan. To give a little background on this, the Taliban wants to have a government already in place in the event that Afghanistan is taken over so that’s why they have a shadow government with governors and district chiefs. This is actually a smart strategy on their part and seeing how things are going in Afghanistan which I’ll write about in the future, they may get their dream. Anyway this particular guy was responsible for the drive in Kunduz city in 2015 where the Taliban took over before being pushed out. He also organized training camps among other duties so he was a key leader in the Taliban. His death however will not solve the internal problems inside Afghanistan.
