This week the Iraqi forces have launch the highly anticipated operation to take the west of Mosul and already we see some successes. Both the Ghazlani military base and the Mosul international airport have been retaken already and there’s already movement into some of the neighborhoods in the west. Also the military base and the airport will be used as a operational center for the complete takeover of western Mosul. This is the final phase of splitting that caliphate up and depriving ISIS of a major base.
