You Cannot Make This Up

Contrary to popular belief within the LGBTQ community, marriage equality is not the most important issue facing the United States. Under a Donald Trump administration I do not believe that marriage equality will be reversed, especially since the president has stated that the supreme court decision will stand. However, the simple fact that so many within the community view marriage equality as the single most important issue is proof that the self absorption of millennials, in particular many liberal and gay millennials, is very much alive and well. We are a minority. It not always about you. You will vote for the worst possible candidate so long as they are pro gay marriage and give you what you want. The bigger picture is never examined to pick the best possible path for the nation as a whole. You only care about what you can get. I have noticed that the LGBT community has simmered down though since the president stated that the scotus ruling will stay. They have instead become wrapped around the axle and in uproar over the temporary ban of people coming from a region of the world known to contain extremely homophobic views as well as actions and then have the nerve to complain about homophobia. You couldn't make this up even if you tried.
